She's a breath of fresh air with a heart of gold.
She’s a breath of fresh air with a heart of gold. She’s so educated and kind. She sees things from all point of views and she teaches and explains topics so eloquently. I enjoyed every one of her classes. She brings up topics that otherwise wouldn’t be spoken about and always had our entire class involved in discussions.

She is more than a teacher.
I was scared coming in, but I met my Professor. She has a new, different approach from others. She is engaging, proactive, and she makes this class interesting and fun to be in. I have learend a lot and would recommend her to everyone. Each and every one is free to express themselves without bing judged. I have come to know my classmates' cultures and appreciate everyone for who they are. She is more than a teacher.

You are among the few instructors that allow free thinking.
Positives: You are among the few instructors that allow free thinking. Your teaching style is refreshing, as if we are at the "university." You approach the content provided by the school with an up-to-date view, which makes it easy for us to learn. Negatives: Sometimes the "discussions" go overboard and drag the whole class away from what we were supposed to learn. Because I am not used to this teaching style, I often times feel that my position as a nurse is not taking into account: a nurse has the responsibility to advocate for his patients. If I am thinking about my feelings, I might forget my duty.

This course allows me to think about issues I previously would not have given much thought about.
I enjoy this course. I appreciate the fact that we are able to discuss freely about the ongoing political issues taking place, and what people agree or disagree with in an honest and respectable manner. This course allows me to think about issues I previously would not have given much thought about and allows me to learn more about myself and my beliefs. I think it's important to have the discussions we do in class especially as future health care providers because it allows us to acknowledge and be aware of our own beliefs and understand other people's perspective of things. It also prepares us to be more conscious of implicit biases when serving patients that might not have the same views as us and allows us to kind of work on not allowing our own biases to affect the care of our patients.

Very thought provoking and generally interesting.
It is very thought provoking and generally interesting. Just being 100% honest, sometimes I can't wrap my head around the (sorry) stupid (sorry) things that are being said. But I also tell myself that if it weren't for this class, I probably would never engage in conversation with a majority of the people (not them specifically, but more so how they think) in this class. I do think some thoughts need to be shut down. Overall enjoying the class very much (I hope you can tell by my participation).

You're an amazing professor.
The Good: You're an amazing professor. I like that you keep me engaged in class discussion. The way you explain topics is great. The Bad: 1 pm - 4 pm. It's because we have another class from 10:30 - 12:30.

Sociology is important for the world and also very important for nurses working with vast amounts of different backgrounds.
The Good: Sociology is important for the world and also very important for nurses working with vast amounts of different backgrounds. Being able to deal with various amounts of people on a daily, learning their way of life and preference on how to talk of each to their own comfort without bias is important. No bad, no ugly. :)

I adore my professor's engagement and questionnaire of the class.
I enjoyed this course. It felt good to stem away from nursing and focus/discuss on real world current events. There was no bad or ugly moment for me. I adore my professor's engagement and questionnaire of the class and how everyone gave insight on their personal opinions.
