At one juncture in time,

they had all believed she was

the best thing to happen to them.

They had all believed she was rare.

She was special. She was a catch.

She was amazing.

She now knew better.

For all the adjectives

that their seated fears could muster

without belying the frailty of their egos,

she now knew she was far greater

than any of their declarations could capture.

She was her.

And in her full existence,

she was quite breathtakingly profound.

None of them ever held the capacity to show her this.

She herself now was.

This is what she now knew.
